Coasteering – it’s not as scary as you think!

Being a little apprehensive of something new is normal and in each group of intrepid Coasteering adventurers there will always be the doubter, the dubious, the nervous. But is it scary? It doesn’t have to be!

Coasteering, like any adventure activity, is meant to push you a little out of your comfort zone – that sense of adventure comes from the challenge of the unknown. The important thing to remember is that you are always in control, and you’re in safe hands!

Do as much or as little as you want

Coasteering isn’t an exam. Its not a show of who is best or toughest – Its about having fun, giving your best, pushing your own limits and simply enjoying an outdoor activity with family or friends.

We recognise that everyone will have their own goals and boundaries and our guides will gently encourage you to step beyond your own comfort zone to get the most out yourself and the activity – you might be surprised at what you can achieve!

The important thing to remember is that you decide how much adventure you want, you’ll never be asked to do anything you don’t want to.

Our Guides

Our guides are industry leaders and experts in their field. Coasteering is a dynamic adventure activity and requires a calm and experienced hand.

Our team are trained to deliver Coasteering sessions that are tailored to the group’s abilities and at a level that everyone feels comfortable enough to get involved.

What does that mean? It means that we will look after the individual as well as the group. Some people are not strong swimmers but have a brave heart when it comes to cliff jumping. Some people motivate the group simply by offering encouragement to others.

Cornish Wave Coasteering sessions all have a minimum of two guides

We always staff two guides per Coasteering session as a minimum. This helps to give support and guidance to each individual and allows the freedom of movement our guides need around a group.

Coasteering is for Everyone

Not sure if your family or group of friends are up to the challenge? We have been delivering outdoor activities for over 14 years so trust us when we say that pretty much anyone can enjoy a Coasteering Session in Newquay! We have a massive range of people joining us from around the world all with a different perspective on adventure.

Past Coasteering customers include families from Holland that have rarely seen the sea, a couple from Estonia that had no idea what a wetsuit was to groups of friends from the UK that don’t often take part in outdoor exercise. We get all walks of life, and all are welcome.

Coasteering is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Dealing with such a mix of people means we can offer support and encouragement to those that are nervous about jumping, unsure about their swimming or just worried that they won’t be able to do it.

We’re always happy to answer questions about coasteering, so feel free to get in touch to talk to one of our Coasteering guides. If you want to learn more about what happens on a Coasteering session, check out our Coasteering FAQs or read about what to expect on a Coasteering Session.
